Grant Proposal

For my idea for the grant is to to do an international food night at Stevenson University for the LIRS. For this event it would be open to the public and to Stevenson student. We would invite some of the refugees that have started to make a life for themselves here and have them, if they are willing, to make 2-3  dishes that are very popular in there family and popular in the country from where they are from. There would be a cover charge of $15 for the people to get it. All of the money that is taken in with the cover charger would be donated right back to the LIRS to help them get other refugees out of their country. I would also have a donation box set up inside of the event if people would like to make a cash donation to the LIRS. The money that the grant gives us, we would use it to reimburse all of the people that made food for the event.

  1. I think this is a great idea because it not only raises awareness but intersects cultures. This project is very interesting becuase its a chance for people to connect one on one through a meal. If i was on this project I would consider being a financial officer because if I could budget funds I would make sure theres a way to reimburse the families who cooked meals.

  2. I think this idea is a winner because it brings the community together while also bringing awareness. This idea appeals to me because it has the potential to be annual and the potential audience could be massive. If there is anything people love at events, it is food. I think it will be a great opportunity to give back. I would be interested in any role excluding researcher only because I’m still a bit confused on what it is asking
