The Walking Dead: Making decisions

Immediately you form a bond with the character you are playing, Lee. While he does have a criminal past that we start to unravel he genuinely seems like a good person, that is if you make him one. You can make him a not so great person if you always made him fight with people, brush off Clementine constantly, and betray everyone around him which are all choices we are provided in this game. But who would do that? We want to be the best character we can be and in turn we make every attempt to make Lee the best character. Clementine really helps with this point, as you form this Father/daughter relationship that is pure and genuine.

Especially with this being my third time around playing this season I am very conscious of my choices. I know which ones really matter and which ones don’t as much. I found myself making choices to befriend characters I knew I loved and mess with characters I knew I hated. I did this with big decisions too. When you first play you have no idea if one comment causes a catastrophe or not. When you replay you have an idea. For this reason I found myself making decisions that made sense but I was too scared to make the first time around because of the fear of the consequences. It made the game more enjoyable knowing what matters and what doesn’t. From the very start you worry about if you should tell this cop off or try to act polite when you are in the police car on the way to jail. If you knew he was going to die I think people would tend to tell him off more knowing it would not have any real consequences.

I have always really enjoyed Kenny’s character. I like how he tells everyone how it is and seems to make very smart apocalypse choices, for the most part. Even when he acts annoying you know he is a genuine person. I thing this is part of the reason I like Clementine so much too. There is no deception and secrecy she always tells you the truth and never wants to leave your side. Which seems like a comfort when it is the end of the world.
