Panel at Stevenson

For my grant idea, I propose we host a panel with LIRS (or really any one of the organizations that we decide to connect with) where we would have 6-8 people who are immigrants, refugees, or asylum seekers, speak. They would have a conversation about what the organization has done for them and how students or anyone attending could support financially or help volunteer. It could all be student led too. I’m thinking we just recreate the Entrepreneur Panel we attended last week.

  1. This pitch is great because the panel everyone attended last week was very informational and having this setting could be great for this type of project. What appeals to me most is the panel setting where open questions can occur for audience members. I would like the role as communications specialist because getting in contact with the organization and working with speakers is very important.

  2. This is a great idea. Our ideas are parallel. I like that it would mostly be student lead because students are the ones proposing these events. I would want to work as financial officer.

  3. I think that this is a good idea. I think that this is a winning idea because it is a way to get the word out about LIRS and what they do and what they have done for these refugees. the role that I would like to do is the marketing for this project. I feel like I can do a good job promoting this event to get as many people out to it as possible.
