VR usage in Mental Heath

It is often difficult to understand and truly empathize with another person when we have no concept of their world. With VR we can experience various situations, and gain empathy for those in difficult circumstances.

My pitch is to create a VR experience with three different mental disorders schizophrenia, anxiety, and dementia. The player would choose between the three and will try to perform the task given in the simulation. The task will elaborate the struggle dealing with the specific disorders. In the Schizophrenia experience, there will be auditory and visual hallucinations which may interfere with player’s ability to do the task. The experience will educate and inform student what struggles occur in these situations.
