T. Rowe Price Grant Proposal

I would like to pitch a “Dress for Success” kind of program to the Women and Children in need connected to AWE. AWE already has some programs to help with job applications and resumes, but do they have professional clothing to wear to the interviews? This program potentially could be volunteers who help them go out shopping for clothing and other items. It could also potentially focus on the children in the fall for a “back to school” shopping day for clothing or school supplies like notebooks and bookbags. A day to go somewhere, like goodwill, with help to get specific things they need to further themselves professionally. Dressing for success could also include resume building, linkedin classes, mock interviews, and interview daycare to make sure that they can be as successful as possible if the funds can support the program.

  1. I almost did the same thing for my pitch! I think this is a winning idea because professional clothing, LinkedIn and mock interviews are all things that together will help the migrants be professionally prepared for a job interview/a job. What appeals most to me about your pitch is how you aren’t just focusing on buying professional clothing, but you are also including mock interviews which give them practice for real job interviews and LinkedIn services that help them find jobs. I would want to be the lead writer/researcher.

  2. I love this idea, it meshes well with programs that are currently running who may be able to help get things going, participate, or give pointers and is a basic neccessity. Knowing how to interview is great and all but if you dont look the part you may be set aside immediately, this program would address multiple facets of the process. I would like to be Project manager, but would also be fine with communications specialist/event planner. Again cool idea!

  3. I absolutely LOVE your idea! I would’ve never thought of this aspect of the job application process. This is a great idea because I feel as though it truly shows thought about the needs of these women and provides a necessary tool to their achievements. I feel as though this could really help these people. I would like to be the financial officer for this project.
