My idea for an organization to work with is not one mentioned in class: Caring Hands Africa. The organization does mission trips to Africa to assist people in places such as Zimbabwe and Cameroon by offering medical assistance. The goal is to start a connection between Stevenson and the organization Caring Hands Africa where a documentary made by the organization of one of their trips is brought to Stevenson and screened for an audience where the head of the organization talks about the work he does, importance of missionary work, and ways to get involved in volunteer work with them and/or missionary trips in general. This presentation would be an annual event with the ability for students to reach out to the organization to help at any point throughout the year. This is would create an opportunity great for Stevenson Service Scholar students as well as anyone interested in participating in this type of work. The grant money would go towards helping create the initial documentary that can then be used to educate students.

I really like this idea. I think that it could become a really strong relationship between the organization and the school. I also feel like the documentary has really great potential to tell a really cool story. I think that I could really help as a communications specialist and event planner. I already have a connection with the organization which could help things run smoothly.
This is a great idea, especially since Stevenson has run infromational days and video series like this before with fair turnouts! It has the potential to really inspire people through not only the documentary but also through the words of the organization head. I would prefer to be project manager, but can take a different role if needed.
I think this is winning idea because it visually shows the struggles in the everyday lives of the people in need. As a visual storyteller I find this as a very impactful project that can really encourage people to help.
This project appealed to me because it stood out as project to raise awareness and not just help the refugees specifically. It helps them because half the battle is getting the word out that they need help. This project can do that.
I think the roles I would be best at is Project Manager or Communications Specialist/Event Planner because I have leadership skills and I am a visual communication design major with experience in marketing and communications.
