I chose to design my gunter this way because I feel it best represents me right now. In the book, Art3mis designs her avatar to look like her but she dosen’t include the purple birthmark on her face. Similarly, I didn’t include certain the specific facial feature of my body. I also my hair a little different from what it looks like as well as my eyes. I would name my avatar Laur3n similar to Art3mis’ name because it is creative as well as unique. Even though Aech changed her race as well as sex on the OASIS, I kept it because it is who i really am and it best describes how I feel about myself. I think if I was in the OASIS I would tell people my real name because I am not afraid for others to know my true identity.

This old man hasn’t left his prime yet. Many say it may be over but he keeps proving them wrong. He’s been locked in a battle with father time for ages and still seems to be able to do spectacular things at his old age. Father prime is who I’m trying to be when I grow old. With the a beard and still having hair. I want to the wear the hoodie when playing basketball and dominating as an older fellow. Father prime hasn’t left his prime yet. He’s a good avatar because he looks like a gentle old man. The beard makes him look sage-like. He’ll be able to blend into the community where everyone seems to talk freely about their plans. It’s possible he’ll be able to be the information guru of the game. This’ll give him the leg up on players who struggle to collect information because they look like they could do something with it. Father Prime looks old and probably shouldn’t be able to hunt for anything valuable but somehow he does it. This avatar could be the stealthy archetype for those who value going into battle with a scouting report on their opponent. Father Prime can give any player the  tactical advantage.

I made my avatar look nothing like me for a variety of reasons, but the major one being because it looked nothing like me so if someone like the Sixers tried to find me they wouldn’t be able to. His name is Zeus after the greek god who essentially the ruler of both the sky and the land, to make him seem like he is above all the other gamers. I decided to make my avatar a male because I believe that most people take male gamers more serious than girls. I decided to go with a full beard and a nice head of hair to make my avatar look like he is in his 20’s and because in real life I don’t have a beard or hair like that. I decided to make the eyes a weird color to make him stand out more than a normal person on the game and possibly intimidate other players. I chose majority of the features I did to make people think it was a real person in real life, but add a little bit of an intimidation feature that would make people stop and say “did you see him?”.

My avatar would make a great gunter because he looks like me to establish credibility between other gunters. I would be hard working, persistent and reassuring. My avatars name is different because I would not want what happened to Daito and Wades hometown to happen to me. Anonymous is definitely the way to go in something as serious as the hunt. Also if I look the same, people might think my name is real too which would make it difficult for IOI to track me because it is such a common name.

Alex would be a very good avatar in the OASIS world.  I chose to make a male avatar, because I feel as though females are not supposed to play video games.  A female avatar might be thought of as “not as good.”  For example, in “Ready Player One,” Parzival sees Art3mis as a possible girlfriend, and not as an ally to work with.  Alex might be able to make more allies, because he looks like an innocent, trustworthy, young boy.  The sweatshirt shows that he is not one to dress up often. Other avatars might think that he sits at home and plays video games a lot, which would make him more likely to win.  They will be more likely to want to work with Alex, because of his appearance.  I did not choose to add a mustache, and make him appear older, because that might be intimidating to other characters.  Lastly, this is what I picture Aech and Parzival to look like, as the stereotypical “gamers.”

I wanted my avatar, Aria, to look sophisticated and determined to win Halliday’s prize. Also, I didn’t want to dress her up too much because being a gunter is hard work. I chose purple for the glasses and her shirt because that is my favorite color. The glasses add to the sophisticated look by making her seem intelligent. As for her long, brown hair, I chose that because I just like long hair. She doesn’t have any really girly features like lipstick or eyeliner. I felt like that would add to her being more invested in the game rather than her looks. Lastly, I wanted my avatar to be female because I feel like not that many women play video games or are interested in traditionally male oriented activities. So go girl power!

I decided to make my avatar a male because I feel that in Ready Player One , the male gunters come off as more of a threat than the females do. I dressed him in black as I feel that is a more intimidating color than bright colors. I gave him a serious grin in order to look focused and intimidating rather than happy and approachable. I also gave him blue eyes, brown hair and white skin so he looked slightly like me. I designed a blue background as that is my favorite color and it went well with his eyes. I want my avatar to resemble me slightly but a male is much more threatening then having my avatar be a female like me. I also would like my gunter to be different than my actual self because I do not really like people knowing my true identity online unless I know them personally. My avatar would be named SEM16 because those are the initials of my name and my favorite number.

I picked to be a female because I strongly believe that we been pushed around and seen less to do somethings we can’t do in the real world. I represent for the ladies who seems to put themselves down and always limiting themselves to do big things. I would be able to do the impossible in the OASIS and uplift the confidence for the ladies to go and do wonderful and great things. We are not weak, we are strong, caring, and  loving. Lets go ladies!!

I chose my avatar to look this way because I think it kind of looks like me. I chose the dark colors because I like dark colors, I also usually wear black sweatshirts a lot. I think this would make a good gunter in the OASIS because she looks pretty average and I could probably do a lot of stuff with her, like upgrade her to whatever I want and she’d look normal. My avatars name is badash because my dad and one of our friends gave that nickname to me when I was nine years old at a softball tournament and it just kind of stuck with me since then. It’s been an on going joke and nickname for years now.
