LIRS Grant Idea

My idea for the grant proposal is to work along with LIRS Matching Grant Program, where they help refugees find jobs, and utilize that resource and help them to learn about budgets and how to balance their time. This would be an additional class that they could take, just like for example how LIRS offers an English class. This program would help all immigrants and refugees who are working towards finding a job and take a hold of their life. LIRS works with refugees, children, and migrants to ensure they are safe and feel welcome in different communities around the United States.

  1. I think this is a good idea for a grant because it is key to start at the basics of learning for the refugees. By teaching them tie management, organizational skills, and budgeting are the key components in making it in the world. By working with them to know the basics is a great start. I am a big organizational person, so by having the opportunity to help others get on the same track and be able to start their life is what appeals to me the most. For this idea I think I would want to be on the event planning role to be able to help bring speakers in and help the refugees really understand the meaning of time management and budgeting.

  2. I believe this is a winning idea because it helps all immigrants and refugees who are in need of a better future. The most appealing thing about working on this project is that it makes the American dream possible for these people. I believe that I can help with the financial part of this project. I have experience with using excel and making budget sheets, I will make sure we are using the money appropriately and we do not go overbudget.
