  1. What is the purpose of this grant? Can you articulate a clear outcome?
  2. Is there evidence of research to support the proposed project? Does the research come from reliable sources?
  3. To your knowledge, does the grant use appropriate language to identify the population in need. Does the text use professional, academic language throughout?
  4. Does this project have a reasonable timeline? Can it be accomplished during this semester?
  5. Is the projected budget logical and well-researched?
  6. Would you fund this grant? Why or why not?

Grant Proposal

For my grant proposal, I would like to hold a fundraising event at Stevenson. At this event, everyone is welcomed including Stevenson students and the people from AWE. During the event, we will have leaders from AWE speaking about the organization and providing any information to the audience. After the information panel, there will be raffles held in order to raise money. There will be food and drinks provided. The point of this event is to help raise awareness towards the organization and to help raise money, since the $1,500 won’t be enough. With the money that is raised, it can help the organization a lot more than $1,500, so it can go towards more than just the technology that AWE needs.

Grant Pitch: Spring Fair/Benefit Concert

College students work hard every semester to maintain their academic successes, but there are times when it becomes stressful and we need time to relax. My proposal for the grant is to host an outdoor spring fair/benefit concert on campus near the stadium or the quads. It will mainly be for students but could also open to the public. Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) has a Speakers Bureau for events, and I want to request between 6 to 8 speakers to come to Stevenson to inform students about immigration, personal experiences, and the important works of the LIRS. We could also have students come up and share  their stories or present facts and statistics about refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers. Stevenson has a variety of clubs, organizations, and individuals with talents that can partake in the event. The invited speakers would each speak in between performances. The grant will be used to construct a small stage for the performers, food, drinks, and other supplies necessary (glow sticks, raffles, prizes, etc). Since the event may be open to the public, a fee of $5 would be allocated at the entrance and directed back into the organization as a donation. The spring fair/benefit concert would be a great time for students to relax, sit on the grass, eat, and lounge around while watching the performances and learning about LIRS.
