Provocation Scene 8

Iris and Woodnut are starting to spend more time together, and in Iris’ bed room they are together practicing their dancing. When Woodnut had to gone there the first time, Iris and him had danced before and he was scared because he knew he was a bad dancer and didn’t want to be embarrassed in front of her. As this time seems better Iris says “You’re doing better Mr. Woodnut. Much better than last time. And vastly improved since we started,” (Haley 33) and I think they are starting to build a serious bond. Later in the scene Woodnut starts to share a personal story about how his father was more interest in the “world of his imagination” (Haley 35) than he was in Woodnut. It against the rules in The Hideaway but Woodnut ended up finishing the story. When Papa enters to grab Iris for an afternoon together she had forgot about what time is was because of how much fun Woodnut and her were having. Their time concluded right after that and Iris had gone and spent her time with Papa.

Do you think that a relationship between Woodnut and Iris is becoming strong fast? Also do you think that Iris may start spending more time with Woodnut instead of Papa?
